This is probably the most recent scanned drawing of mine. It’s for a Transformers fanzine that came out a few years back, “Transformers: Bootleg”.
There’s a long story behind it, but to be brief, I used to send cover art and comics* to the fanzine’s organizer back when she did an earlier Transformers fanzine in the mid-1990s, titled “Roll Out”. She’d contacted me around 2005 to help her produce a new fanzine, to which this was my submission.
The full fanzine can be found (in PDF format) here:

*Just Google “The Warworld Gambit” and shield your eyes.

These two guys are from a webcomic that I’d started creating, back when those had boomed in popularity. Like my romance with comic books, podcasts, and other buzzing trends, this never developed beyond a flight of fancy.
Anyway, I don’t remember the name of the spiky-haired one, but I’m pretty sure the dude sitting is named Gordon. Spiky guy was a character new to the neighborhood and who the audience would have connected with to be introduced to everyone else. Also, he was a super-jerk. Gordon was kinda like George Costanza, if he were a 20-something Latino gamer with girl troubles.

Another random doodle page that I took home from work. I was working at Spencer’s at the time and when business is slow, well…the devil finds work for idle hands.
Most of the faces you see are of a character of mine that I came up with in high school, Jaime the Disgruntled Elf. He was like my Lobo of Christmas. At the bottom is a quick doodle of Eminem. And, of course, Batman.

A self-portrait doodle…probably from around 2003. I think I was starting to really streamline my style, leaning closer toward artists like Stephen Silver.
I think I drew this back in 1997… He was my #1 character for a while; in many ways my cartoon proxy. In fact, he used to be my online personae. His name is Lord Adam; taken from my middle name as I was not all THAT creative when I was 16.
I’d always hoped to create some grand sci-fi fantasy story with Adam and an assortment of other characters, but that never panned out. He was immortal and could wield various magics and other superpowers. Also not shown is his sort of multi-tool: A 10in metallic rod that could extend to various weapons or implements (bo staff, lightsaber, nunchaku, etc.).
A page from my doodle pad from 2003(-ish).
Growing up, I wanted to be a cartoonist. Especially since in the 1990s, comic book artists were seen almost as rock stars. Unfortunately, I haven’t done any serious drawing in over a decade and I have a much deeper passion for writing and podcasting now.
I did dig up recently some scans of my most recent stuff from around 6-8 years ago. I’ll be posting stuff for the curious throughout next week.
This sums up what I think is the biggest problem with the education system of this generation. The French basically translates to, “What are these grades?” It reminded me much of my girlfriend’s last job as a middle school teacher.
I think we have a similar problem in the modern patient/doctor relationship, but that’s a different discussion.
